Capcom has revealed the initial title update for Monster Hunter Wilds, featuring a fresh region, novel creatures, and Arena Quests that measure your performance against others based on time.
The Monster Hunter Wilds update release date is April 3, 2025, and is free for all players.
The Grand Hub
At Hunter Rank 16, you’ll gain access to The Grand Hub, a bustling center filled with additional activities and opportunities for socializing among Hunters. Capcom anticipates that Hunters will engage in fresh interactive experiences, such as arm-wrestling tournaments and the recently introduced Barrel Bowling mini-game. In this game, you’ll aim to roll barrels into targets, offering varying rewards based on your score. To initiate the game, you’ll require Barrel Bowling vouchers, which can be obtained through various means including login bonuses.
In the heart of Suja lies The Grand Hub, revered as a house of devotion by its people. As night falls, if one looks closely, they might catch sight of the Diva crooning in devotion. Her performance becomes the focal point, and watching her graceful dance is truly captivating.
The Team Management Center, currently located on Windward Plains, will be transferred to the Grand Hub once access to that location is granted. This change makes it more convenient for Hunters to efficiently organize their hunting parties.
Arena Quests
In Arena Quests, you get a chance to challenge other hunters by finishing designated quests as quickly as possible. You can check global standings on the Expedition Board, located at the main entrance of the Grand Hub, after you’ve unlocked that specific area.
Time-limited Quest Challenges are introduced where the objective is to finish them quickly for a higher rank. Participation prizes include pendants, while special pendants are given out depending on your completion time and global position in the rankings.
Time-bound Limited Arena Quests are periodically posted on the Expedition Board for players to take up. These battles are fought using pre-selected gear by duos of Hunters within the Arena and Challenge arena. In contrast, Wilds will introduce free challenge quests without any equipment restrictions, allowing teams as large as four Hunters. If you’re missing teammates, you can bring along supportive Hunters to complete your group.
Free content
With this update, you’ll find extra, complimentary content. This includes customizing Alma’s look, where you can now give her a new wardrobe! Every player will get a fresh outfit for Alma at no cost. Once you finish a side quest in the game, you’ll also have the option to swap out her glasses.
Additionally, you’ll notice some familiar gestures from the Monster Hunter series returning to the store at no cost, and the Cosmetic DLC Pack 1 will also be up for purchase. Moreover, there are new camp gear choices available as well. Alongside these free additions, paid cosmetic options such as fresh outfits will be offered in the shop.
New challenges
Mizutsune
In the game, Mizutsune – a monster from the Leviathan family, initially presented in Monster Hunter Generations – is now part of the roster. This creature employs water and bubbles for its assaults, and has previously been seen in Monster Hunter Rise and Monster Hunter Stories 2. Starting at Hunter Rank 21, players can engage in a Mizutsune hunt by conversing with Kanya in the Scarlet Forest. Commencing at Hunter Rank 41, Tempered Mizutsune will start to show up.
Arch-tempered Rey Dau
On April 29th, the formidable character, Rey Dau, will make his first appearance, offering a more difficult mission for gamers who have achieved a Hunter Rank of 50 or higher. This adventure will provide an enhanced challenge and, as a reward, players will gain access to a brand-new Rey Dau Gamma armor set for crafting.
Zoh Shia
In Monster Hunter Wilds, the initial final boss, Zoh Shia, can now be fought repeatedly, offering new armor sets as rewards. Known for its colossal energy blasts and frequent explosions, this formidable guardian also drops essential gear useful for crafting. To engage in farming Zoh Shia during Wyvernโs Wakening in the Ruins of Wyveria, you’ll need to attain Hunter Rank 50 and successfully complete the Dragontorch quest first.
