This game stands out from others in the series. Instead of focusing on linear progression like previous titles, it encourages players to venture into expansive, open environments. To make the most of these areas, you’ll need to locate optimal Pop-up Camp spots that cater to your diverse requirements.

While exploring the game, most locations will become apparent to you, but a few may prove tricky to find. Fortunately, your Hunter and allies will offer assistance during your journey by announcing hidden locations as you travel past them.

Although these camps might appear as unnecessary hurdles on your path to eradicating monsters, they are surprisingly beneficial. Establishing camps at strategic locations across the map facilitates seamless navigation and streamlines your resource collection tasks.

What Are Pop-up Camps?

Pop-up Camps refer to temporary, compact campsites you can place on your map. They not only serve as navigation points but also allow for personalization of your tents and surrounding areas, giving them a unique, customized feel.

When you begin in each region, you’ll start with a restricted amount of options. Therefore, I suggest taking some time to explore each region thoroughly, as this will help you find all the potential places where a campsite could be situated.

As a gamer, whenever I stumble upon a sweet hideout, my game automatically sets a marker there for me. That way, if I ever feel like shaking things up and moving my camp, getting back to that spot is as easy as clicking on the map!

Remember that certain locations might be beneficial, but be aware, they can be destroyed by monsters. If a monster invades your campsite, it will cause destruction, leaving you with two options: either head to the campsite and have the Felyne resident fix it for you, or relocate it altogether.

There are three Safety Levels of Camps:

  • Safe – Will never be attacked by Large Monsters
  • Insecure – Could be attacked by Large Monsters
  • Dangerous – Will likely be attacked by Large Monsters

There’s no need to stress over a camp being damaged since it naturally heals over time. Alternatively, you can instantly fix it using Guild Points if you prefer. However, keep in mind that you only have five of these points per area, so with a maximum of 25, you’ll want to choose the locations wisely and prioritize your favorites.
