The expansive worlds of Star Wars and Monopoly have collided in the latest “Monopoly Go!” event.
Under Scopely’s leadership, the beloved mobile game “Monopoly Go!” is teaming up with “Star Wars” for a two-month journey, merging the narratives of “The Mandalorian” and “The Skywalker Saga” within the “Monopoly Go!” app. The in-game event kicks off this Thursday.
Scopely’s game development team aimed to merge ‘Star Wars’ with ‘Monopoly Go!’ in a way that is visually appealing, story-driven, and full of exciting gameplay, reflecting both franchises. As stated by Scopely’s president of games Victor Diaz-Roig, the goal was to create a collaboration that not only includes popular characters and time periods from ‘Star Wars’, but also maintains the cultural significance of the series. The aim was to design an experience that is fresh and unpredictable while still preserving the originality and creativity found in ‘Monopoly Go!’.
The adventure commences in the mobile game as robot Peg-E from “Monopoly Go!” steps into Mr. Monopoly’s private cinema, sparking a daydream. As the world of Monopoly is reimagined, fans of Star Wars can explore renowned Outer Rim planets like Tatooine and gather themed tokens and shields.
