As a seasoned movie critic with a penchant for unconventional narratives, I find myself intrigued by the upcoming project, “In the End, Everything Will Be Fine,” starring the captivating Esther Acebo. With her impressive resume, ranging from Netflix’s global phenomenon “Money Heist” to more indie gems like Ignacio Tatay’s “Jaula” and Joaquín Mazón’s “De Perdidos al Río,” she has proven herself as an actress who thrives in thought-provoking roles.
Actress Esther Acebo, renowned for her role as Stockholm in the globally successful Netflix series “Money Heist,” has agreed to take on the lead role in director Nestor Ruiz Medina’s upcoming film titled “Al Finald Toda va a Estar Bien.
The movie can be characterized as a critique on modern society, similar to Ruben Östlund’s style. It will narrate five interconnected tales that delve into the “core of human folly.
As a devoted cinephile, I’m thrilled to share that my cinematic journey spans across various projects. My television credits encompass “Money Heist,” streaming on Prime Video, “Operación Marea Negra” and “Antes de Perder” on Playz. In the realm of features, I’ve had the privilege to work in Ignacio Tatay’s “Jaula” and Joaquín Mazón’s “De Perdidos al Río.” Currently, I’m immersed in the filming process for “La Increíble Historia de Julia Pastrana,” destined for Disney+, and the feature film “Normas para una Página de Sucesos” directed by José Ortuño.
Regarding the screenplay for “In the End, Everything Will Be Fine,” Acebo expressed: “This script was so unsettling that I couldn’t stay put when I initially read it; it was unique and refreshing. There’s no doubt in my mind that the movie will evoke emotions, make viewers uncomfortable, tug at heartstrings, and move audiences. It will provoke laughter and thought. As an actress, I find this a compelling challenge to bring this story to life, and I can hardly wait to do it.
Alongside Acebo, actress María Lázaro – known for her role in Medina’s first film “21 Paradise” – and Alex Sorian Brown, who has appeared in “Hour 20”, “Evan Wood” among others, will be part of the movie’s ensemble. The shooting is scheduled to occur over multiple weeks across locations in Cádiz and Castilla la Mancha. Mono con Pistolas Films and Sorenfilms are the production companies involved.
As an ardent admirer, I’m thrilled to share that I, Medina, have made my mark as a skilled filmmaker, with my short films gracing several distinguished international platforms such as Tribeca. My work has been recognized not once but twice for the Spanish Academy Goya Awards in 2018 and 2022. My debut feature film, “21 Paraíso,” premiered in 2022, gracing screens at Tallen Black Nights in Estonia and making its domestic debut at the Seville European Film Festival. The film was honored with a special mention from the jury and the Young Jury Award for Best Debut Film at the REC Festival in Tarragona.
According to the director, ‘[Everything Will be Fine in the End]’ draws heavily from real-life experiences. In essence, truth often surpasses fiction in its strangeness. The goal of this production is to present a reflection of contemporary humanity, emphasizing our peculiarities and reliance on one another. As the story progresses, this reflection subtly transforms into satire.
