Just before the newest episode of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season 2 airs, a fresh glimpse of the enigmatic Titan X has been unveiled. While Season 2 hinted at Kong’s arrival, the trailers heavily featured Titan X, a new monster joining the MonsterVerse. We saw the creature fleeing Axis Mundi after Cate Randa opened a portal, and Kong pursued it before it escaped into the ocean, leaving Skull Island.
A new image of Titan X has been released by Discussing Film, offering fans the clearest view yet of the creature. The promotional photo shows Titan X battling Kong at sunset. Titan X appears to have a reptile-like snout, glowing spines around its head, and a prominent horn. It also possesses tentacles that enable it to move both on land and in the water.

When the trailer for Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season 2 hinted at a new titan, fans immediately began guessing who ‘Titan X’ might be. It quickly became apparent that Titan X wouldn’t be one of Godzilla’s traditional enemies, as those characters are owned by Toho Studios and are likely being saved for future movies. Titan X’s appearance shares some resemblances with Biollante, a plant-Godzilla hybrid from the 1989 film Godzilla vs. Biollante, suggesting Biollante may have been a source of inspiration for its design.
Titan X’s watery appearance and glowing parts led some to believe it was Tiamat, the monster Godzilla defeats in Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. But recent glimpses of Titan X suggest it’s a completely new creature, never before seen in the MonsterVerse. This fits with the other titans featured in Monarch: Legacy of Monsters – aside from Godzilla and Kong, all the creatures in that Apple TV+ series are original and haven’t appeared in previous Godzilla films from Toho or the recent MonsterVerse movies.
The second season of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters will release episodes weekly, with the last one arriving on May 1, 2026. This gives fans plenty of time to discuss Titan X – its identity, what it’s planning, and whether Monarch will reveal its official name. The fact that Titan X has smaller, parasite-like creatures attached to it, similar to those seen in Cloverfield, makes it especially dangerous, as these creatures can attack in tight spaces. A recent image suggests that Titan X will clash with Kong before the season ends, after escaping him in the first episode. It’s also very likely that Titan X will battle Godzilla, as both titans are now in the ocean and Godzilla isn’t known for holding back.
