In simpler terms, Sony’s studio in San Diego, known as Sony San Diego, has unveiled that in MLB The Show, there’s a weekly challenge called Challenge of the Week. In this challenge, players aim to hit a blazing fastball clocked at 200 miles per hour. Those who accumulate the highest points by the end of the challenge will receive rewards as prizes.
As a gamer, I’m pumped about Sony San Diego teaming up with the hilarious sports-comedy crew, Dude Perfect, for this week’s Impossible Fastball Challenge! The event kicks off on April 4th at 12 PM Pacific Time / 3 PM Eastern Time and runs through until April 11th at 11:59 AM PT / 2:59 AM ET. To get in on the action, you’ll need a stable internet connection and be at least 18 years old to be eligible for the prizes. Let’s see if we can outdo those perfect pitches!

Competitors will take on the role of Elly De La Cruz, facing an artificial intelligence-controlled Paul Skenes who can throw a blazing 200 MPH fastball. The goal is to score as many points as possible within three pitches. It appears that players must quickly swing their bats the moment the ball is released by Paul Skenes to have any chance of hitting it successfully. TopMob has tried this task, and it seems like lightning-fast reflexes will be essential for success.
