MLB player Blake Snell tears into fan on Twitch for mocking his injury

San Diego Padres pitcher Blake Snell recently addressed his heated exchange with a fan during a Twitch stream. He stated he doesn’t regret his reaction, explaining he was just being honest about his current state of mind.

So, I hurt my shoulder and had to take a break from gaming. I’ve been streaming on Twitch to pass the time and just let off some steam, and honestly, I accidentally went viral for saying something I probably shouldn’t have! It’s been a bit crazy, but hey, that’s Twitch, right?

While streaming a game of MLB The Show 26, pitcher Blake Snell saw a chat message telling him to return from his injury, and that comment sparked a lengthy response from him.

Frustrated with his shoulder injury, Snell sarcastically talked to it, saying, “What do you want me to do? I can’t just make it feel better.” He lamented not being able to pitch in the playoffs due to the pain, and expressed annoyance at the idea of starting the season while injured, questioning what else he could possibly do about it.

Following the widespread attention his remarks received, Snell was interviewed by The Athletic and didn’t indicate any intention of taking back what he said.

I need to be a little more careful with my words, but overall, I’m being honest about how I feel. I’m really happy with where things are going, and it’s great to be getting back to a more normal routine. I’m just eager to start pitching again.

He playfully remarked that his shoulder is a good listener, explaining, “I’ve been listening to my shoulder for a while, so it was nice to finally be able to respond!”

Bryce Snell has previously gained attention for statements that went viral. For example, in 2020, he publicly stated he wouldn’t pitch if his salary was lowered.

He firmly stated he wouldn’t accept a pay cut, explaining the potential risks were too high. When asked about it, he remained resolute, declaring he’d keep streaming on Twitch – and he followed through on that commitment.
