Mizkif thanks fans for protecting him from harassment during TwitchCon meet & greet

As a long-time fan of Mizkif, I have to say that his recent incident at TwitchCon San Diego was truly heartwarming. It’s not often that we get to see our favorite streamers in such vulnerable situations, and it’s even more impressive to witness the incredible support from their communities.

At TwitchCon, Mizkif employed X as a way of expressing gratitude towards his fans who defended him during an unexpected encounter, when another streamer attempted to bother him during an impromptu meet and greet.

From September 20th through 22nd, TwitchCon San Diego unfolded, attracting streamers hailing from various parts of the globe to the convention center for socializing.

The gathering concluded with some disturbances; it turned out that online broadcasters affiliated with Kick were causing trouble for figures such as xQc, nmplol, and Extra Emily at the event.

Mizkif, one of the founders of OTK and a popular figure on Twitch, recently recounted an unsettling encounter in a blog post. He almost canceled an unexpected gathering when he spotted another streamer intending to bother him.

Outside TwitchCon, I found myself spontaneously greeting fans. A queue started forming as people noticed I was there. Meanwhile, a streamer approached me to cause trouble, creating an unpleasant atmosphere. He stated this happened before expressing feelings of powerlessness and considering ending the meet-and-greet.

However, viewers shielded the Twitch celebrity from the harassment by raising their bags and backpacks to obstruct their sightlines instead.

He initially intended to end the meet and greet, but as he was waiting in line, he observed some spectators forming a protective barrier around him. This allowed him to carry on with the meet and greet. They held up their bags and backpacks, preventing someone from bothering him and his fans.

Amidst the pandemonium, the queue never seemed to end, yet folks pressed on, snapping photos and exchanging tales as if it were just another ordinary day. Miraculously, I managed to complete my part, with more and more individuals joining in to extend the line, reaching out to me.

At TwitchCon’s outskirts, I spontaneously engaged in a casual interaction with fans. A queue started forming as passersby noticed my presence. While outside, a streamer approached me with hostile intentions towards both myself and our community. However, I chose not to respond or take any action because I recognized some of these individuals from previous encounters, leaving me feeling distressed…

Mizkif expressed gratitude towards his community for standing by him through his imperfections and for remaining loyal viewers.

Many people rushed to comment, expressing their opinions about the matter. Many simply boosted the morale of the entire community.

Although Miz’s situation concluded positively through fan interactions, an incident involving a Twitch streamer outside the venue led to the involvement of law enforcement due to their interaction with another content creator.

Streamer Shoovy submitted a police complaint, claiming that a fellow content creator, who hails from a platform owned by Stake, shoved him onto an oncoming train near the San Diego Convention Center.
