Mitchel Musso Fired: Shocking Reasons Behind Jeremy’s Recast in Phineas and Ferb!

Following a 12-year hiatus, the cherished Disney Channel animated series “Phineas and Ferb” returns, picking up directly from where it ended. Unlike a reboot, this comeback is more about continuing the story. Known as Season 5 of the original series, viewers can once again join their favorite characters on another summer filled with exciting adventures. The first four seasons of “Phineas and Ferb” and the initial 10 episodes of Season 5 are now available for streaming on Disney+.

In its comeback, many original voice actors reprised their roles, such as Vincent Martella as Phineas and Ashley Tisdale as Candace Flynn. However, there’s a significant change in the cast, which comes from an intricate backstory.

Jeremy Was Recast in Phineas and Ferb Season 5

In the well-known gang of children, the fifth season of Phineas and Ferb also features the return of Jeremy Johnson, who is Candace’s romantic interest. Although he played a significant role in the first four seasons, he has made only sporadic appearances in the new season so far, with limited dialogue. However, this could be a deliberate choice by the creators.

It appears that the original voice actor of Jeremy, who is the sole returning character so far, hasn’t returned for further voiceovers. However, it remains a mystery as to who is now providing the voice for him, since Disney has not disclosed the new casting choice yet. Interestingly, the series credits fail to mention Jeremy, even in episodes where he speaks, leaving his current voice actor unnamed.

Actor Mitchel Musso, who is recognized for portraying Oliver Oken, a key friend in “Hannah Montana” on Disney Channel, and later King Brady in the Disney XD series “Pair of Kings”, experienced a decline in his professional ties with the company during his peak time at the network.

Mitchel Musso’s Arrest History May Have Caused His Phineas and Ferb Firing

In 2011, when Mitchell was 20 years old, he was arrested for driving under the influence (DUI). This event led Disney to abruptly remove him from the show Pair of Kings, replacing him with another actor as the co-lead. Although it appeared that they had severed all ties with him publicly, there was no official explanation given at the time regarding why Mitchell was no longer associated with the company, despite being a major star for them.

During that period, Musso was given permission to carry on portraying Jeremy, and he did so right up until the series concluded in 2014. However, following his DUI incident, the beloved character started appearing less frequently in episodes than ever before in the subsequent seasons.

In due course, Mitchell went back to Disney, lending numerous voices to the show “Milo Murphy’s Law“. He even reprised his role as Jeremy in the series. His character continued to appear in “Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Candace Against the Universe” in 2020. However, shortly afterwards, another round of legal issues arose for him.

2023 saw Mitchell’s arrest on multiple charges, which encompassed theft and public intoxication. Since then, he hasn’t secured a role in any TV or movie productions. When Disney announced the return of Phineas and Ferb for their home network and streaming service, Disney+, Mitchell was omitted from any promotional materials.

It’s unclear if his recent arrest led to the casting changes, but it seems like Mitchell might no longer be connected with Disney or the Phineas and Ferb series. Fans are still trying to figure out who the new voice actor playing Jeremy Johnson will be.
