Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning Dominates Korean Box Office

The action-packed movie titled “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning” has had a great start at the cinema, accumulating over $11 million even before its official premiere in U.S. theaters and key markets. Kicking off in selected territories on May 17, this eighth and possibly final chapter of the enduring “Mission: Impossible” series then opened in the UK on May 21 and the U.S. on May 23. It topped the Korean box office with an impressive $5.4 million haul, signaling a promising start as it expands further.

Over the past weekend, Kobis, a Korean Film Council-run tracking service, noted 759,363 theater visits across 2,385 screens in South Korea, earning approximately $5.5 million. However, taking into account limited previews, the total admissions reached 762,955. Meanwhile, “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning” added an additional $4 million from Indian screenings and $2 million from Japanese ones. Consequently, the movie has raked in $11.5 million from these three international markets alone, which is a promising sign ahead of its upcoming global release later this week.
