Mission: Impossible 8 Box Office Hits Major Global Milestone (But Its Huge Budget Could Be An Issue)

2025 box office charts are being dominated by “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning,” the eighth film in the Tom Cruise action series. This movie, steered and co-written by Christopher McQuarrie, is considered as a possible end to this current version of the franchise. “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning” made its debut over Memorial Day weekend, raking in a record-breaking $64 million domestically, though it was overshadowed by the extraordinary opening of “Lilo & Stitch.

According to Variety, by Sunday morning, the movie “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning” is expected to have earned a total of $122.6 million in domestic theaters over its second weekend, bringing its global box office revenue to approximately $353.8 million. This makes it one of only six films released in 2025 to surpass the $350 million mark worldwide, with “Thunderbolts”, “Captain America: Brave New World”, “Lilo & Stitch”, “A Minecraft Movie”, and “Ne Zha 2” currently ahead in terms of global earnings.

However, despite this massive budget of $400 million, the film has yet to recover its costs, thus earning a place among the priciest movie productions in history.
