As a seasoned cinema connoisseur with a penchant for unraveling complex narratives, I must admit that “Missing You” has piqued my interest, albeit slightly confounded me. The series seems to be laying out its cards rather hastily, which is a risky move in the world of suspenseful storytelling. It’s like a magician revealing his tricks before the grand finale – it might leave the audience feeling cheated or intrigued, depending on their patience and appetite for mystery.
However, I find myself drawn into the web of deceit and intrigue that this show presents. The characters are as dark as the night, with each new revelation casting a long, ominous shadow over the previous one. The plot twists and turns like a serpent, leaving me guessing at every turn. It’s a rollercoaster ride of suspense, and I can’t help but hold on tight and enjoy the thrilling journey.
As for the joke, well, let’s just say that if Titus’s dogs could talk, they would have barked “I’m stuck with you” the moment they were adopted!
Could it be possible that the plot of “Missing You” has already been fully revealed in just two episodes? It appears so. The episode titled “With Or Without You” begins with Titus, who seems to have a few questionable mental facets, being a dog breeder. He’s reprimanding a seemingly innocent family and their children for naming the adopted dog “Stuffy.” However, it turns out that he has evidence showing the wife-mother is having an affair with the neighbor. They perform background checks before placing dogs, so not only will this family miss out on a cute puppy, but also their car ride home from the remote location is likely to be quite uncomfortable.
In about 40 minutes or so, it becomes evident that Titus plays a significant role in both Kat’s current work situation and past events. As per Kat’s private investigator friend Stacey, Josh, who vanished 11 years ago, has resurfaced on the dating site. It is speculated, though not confirmed, that Titus may be using Stacey’s PI services. Additionally, we discover that “Web Josh” has been involved with a new woman, Dana Fells, who is now considered missing by her son Brendan and is suspected of being harmed by Josh. Furthermore, it is revealed that Titus and the unnamed accomplice are blackmailing individuals like Rishi for tens of thousands of pounds, and when funds run dry, they murder their victims, cremate the bodies, and move on. (So far, they haven’t resorted to turning people into dog food, but that remains a possibility…for now.)
In a tragic turn of events, old Rishi found himself engulfed in flames. Desperate to reunite with Vanessa, he was prepared to make any sacrifices necessary. However, when he went missing and his funds were seized, he became expendable for Titus and the gang. The question remains, though: Was Vanessa truly genuine, or was she a meticulously crafted catfish designed to lure Rishi out? I’m inclined to believe the latter, and I suspect that’s how Josh vanished and then resurfaced as well. Just because he’s now on Melody Cupid doesn’t guarantee his existence in the real world; after all, we’ve learned from online platforms and Dateline NBC that not everything you encounter online is always what it seems if you haven’t met the person in person.
As a seasoned detective with years of experience under my belt, I can sense when someone is holding back information, and it seems that Kat is in such a situation. From my perspective, it appears she has picked up on something fishy about the circumstances surrounding Stagger’s meeting with LeBurne and Josh before the latter’s untimely demise.
Stagger’s flimsy excuse involving a journalistic “scoop” and wasted time doesn’t add up, leaving me to wonder if there are hidden truths at play. The fact that everyone around Kat seems to be gaslighting her, from her dad’s former partner to her mother who wants to move on regardless of LeBurne’s involvement in this case, only adds fuel to my suspicions.
I believe Kat needs to dig deeper and uncover the truth, as it is often the case that when everyone else seems to be lying or hiding something, it’s usually the most important information that needs to come to light. It’s crucial for justice to prevail and for Kat to find closure, so I urge her to trust her instincts and continue investigating this matter relentlessly.
From what we’ve observed in the episode, it appears that even Kat’s friends may be keeping secrets from her. This is suggested at the end when Stacey, as a TV private investigator, makes a call and says something cryptic like “We need to tell her.” This statement is interwoven with flashbacks of Stagger cleaning his bloody hands, indicating that there are only a few possible outcomes. It’s possible that Josh was unfaithful to Kat, and Stacey discovered this. Alternatively, they might want her to move on or know something about Stagger and prison. In any case, it seems that Kat’s closest allies at the moment are her two police partners and Brendan, whose mother has been captured (if not killed) by Titus. This situation is quite grim and unsettling, and it appears that Kat will become increasingly unhinged before gaining clarity. Fortunately, there are only three episodes left, so she won’t have to endure too much more.
Missing Notes
Intriguingly, the choice to dress Stagger and his wife in identical silk blue garments left me pondering if their domestic space might double as a secret venue for a themed gathering, perhaps a baked goods-themed party that I was somehow unaware of.
