
Grab your fishing gear – it’s time to fish in Minecraft! Mojang has teamed up with Conservation International to create a new, educational add-on called Friendly Fishing. It’s a fun fishing adventure where you can catch all sorts of creatures, from tuna and clams to sharks, and even discover hidden treasures. You can download it now!

This game not only provides a new environment to discover and fish to catch, but also aims to teach players about the problem of ocean pollution. While fishing, you’ll find both sea creatures and plastic trash. You can collect the trash and turn it into special items. The more you clean up the ocean, the more types of fish – over 90 in total – you’ll unlock, and you’ll also learn about real efforts to clean up our oceans.
This expansion includes an aquarium where you can collect fish, and lets you dive in a suit to investigate ancient ruins.
Microsoft is starting with a $100,000 donation to Conservation International, and after that, all the money earned from this add-on will also be donated to the organization.
Friendly Fishing is available in the Minecraft Marketplace for 990 Minecoins. You can currently purchase 1020 Minecoins for $5.99.
Minecraft Live revealed several exciting updates coming soon, including the Copper Age update arriving next week, the Mounts of Mayhem update planned for the 2025 holidays, and a collaboration with Dragon Ball Z.
