Minecraft streamer KurtJMac sets date to reach “end of the world” after 14 years

I can’t believe it! After over ten years of walking in Minecraft, KurtJMac finally announced the day he’s going to reach the Far Lands. It’s been an incredible journey watching him, and I’m so excited to see him finally get there!

Kurt started his Minecraft adventures in 2011 with a project called Far Lands or Bust. He tried to reach a strange, broken part of the game’s map that appeared very far from where players start-specifically, 12,550,821 blocks away. This area, known as the Far Lands, was created by a bug in how the game generated terrain. Although the bug was fixed, the Far Lands became a famous and memorable location within the game.

I’ve been following Kurt’s incredible journey, and it’s amazing! Not only is he walking across the US in Minecraft, but he’s also raised almost half a million dollars for charity while doing it! He even got a Guinness World Record for the longest Minecraft journey ever – seriously impressive. It looks like all his hard work is finally going to pay off, and I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Journey to the end of Minecraft coming to a close

Kurt announced in a recent livestream that he plans to arrive at his destination on Saturday, October 4th.

We talked it over and decided on a plan that would allow us to enjoy the rest of the trip,” he explained. “But please mark Saturday, October 4th – in two weeks – on your calendars as the day to join us. Unless something goes wrong, we expect to reach our destination, the Far Lands, after fourteen and a half years.”

He also mentioned AntVenom, another Minecraft creator, during his stream, suggesting AntVenom share any exclusive information on Twitter. AntVenom had previously predicted when Kurt might appear by carefully studying Kurt’s rare use of the F3 debug screen – something he’d only done a few times in over 14 years of playing.

While Minecraft might not actually *end* at the Far Lands, they feel like the edge of the world for many players. And KurtJMac is about to attempt something incredible – reaching that limit in just a few days.
