Even though it’s been quite a while since Techno, my fellow gamer and legendary Minecraft YouTuber, bid farewell after his courageous fight against cancer, his impact continues to resonate strongly within our gaming community. He remains deeply respected by the most prominent creators of this game we all love.
* His YouTube channel has accumulated more than 18 million subscribers after nearly a decade of video production. Remarkably, the video announcing his passing continues to draw comments from viewers even today, boasting over 100 million views.
In the latter part of the 2010s, the Minecraft YouTube scene was significantly shaped by Technoblade’s collaborative efforts with YouTubers such as TommyInnit and Dream, even though these creators may not currently enjoy a cordial relationship. These collaborations and SMPs (Survival Multiplayer) led by him marked a prominent era in Minecraft YouTube, and he was highly esteemed during this period.
Although the specific role of Techno hasn’t been revealed for the Minecraft film yet, it has been officially confirmed in an interview with TommyInnit that the movie will include a tribute to the late YouTube personality, Techno.
Minecraft movie confirmed to have Technoblade reference
Among the devoted Minecraft enthusiasts, there’s no doubt that opinions on the movie have been quite varied. The use of live action and a fresh interpretation of the game’s pixelated aesthetic has left many fans hesitant about the film’s quality, even though it boasts some big-name stars in its cast.
On the other hand, the worries of many have been eased as they’ve incorporated citations for dedicated fans of the game and its prominent creators.
During an interview with Torfi Frans Γlafsson, Minecraft’s Creative Director of Original Content, it was disclosed that they intentionally inserted a nod or tribute to something within the movie.

As a gamer, I found myself hesitating when Tommy asked me about that movie. But eventually, I decided to share some tidbits about it.
βThat felt like the right thing to do,β he said. βYouβre gonna have to see it to see what it is.β
He didn’t have much more to share about the topic, and it’s quite common for those involved in a project as massive as the Minecraft movie to be secretive about the movie’s details, preferring to keep them tucked away until they’re ready to reveal them.
They have several options on how to approach it. For instance, they might make a more conspicuous addition of his Minecraft character, or subtly mention one of his numerous YouTube shows.
