Minecraft Live Comes Back After Six Months, Will Drop Exclusive Movie Content

Mojang has confirmed that Minecraft Live is set to resume on March 22nd at 10 AM Pacific Time (PT) or 1 PM Eastern Time (ET), marking a six-month gap since the previous event.

At this year’s Minecraft Live event, players can expect fresh content drops within the game, along with exclusive insights from developers on upcoming features. Additionally, following the main event, there’s a special segment known as “The Deep Dig,” where viewers will get to witness initial playthroughs of the newly introduced content.

At the latest Minecraft Live event held in September 2024, some exciting updates were unveiled. These included a new biome known as the Pale Garden, a menacing new mob called the Creaking, and further details concerning the upcoming Minecraft movie. Mojang acknowledged that there isn’t much time between this event and the next one, but they want to reassure players not to worry. In the future, Mojang aims to be more transparent about their content plans for Minecraft.

The upcoming Minecraft film is slated for theater debut on April 4th. Simultaneously, Mattel has introduced a series of Minecraft movie-themed toys. These range from a figurine of Jack Black to plushies, a playable sword, and assorted other items related to the movie.

The original creator of Minecraft, Notch, has mused about the possibility of a follow-up game or a spin-off with similar characteristics. Yet, he mentioned that a direct sequel would require Microsoft’s consent, whereas a successor in spirit wouldn’t be quite as enjoyable.
