MindsEye Developer Commits To Troubled Game, Lays Out Roadmap For Fixes

Initially launched to a strongly unfavorable response, MindsEye’s debut earlier in the year posed a potential threat of job losses for many developers at studio Build A Rocket Boy. However, undeterred by this setback, the team has been persistently working to reclaim their game’s success.

The programmer recently provided information about the rocky start of MindsEye and promised a plan or schedule for the game, including details on a collaboration with the Hitman series, which is produced by the game’s publishing company, IO Interactive.

The post begins as follows:

Dear friends, it’s been slightly more than four weeks since MindsEye went live, and we want to express our heartfelt appreciation for your backing and constructive comments. The insights you provide are playing a crucial role in our continuous improvements to the game.

Starting from June, our goal was to provide an exceptional gaming experience for every user. Following this pledge, we’ve rolled out three updates so far, focusing on resolving bugs and enhancing performance on all devices. These improvements were inspired by your valuable feedback. We trust you’re noticing the positive effects of these adjustments, and we remain dedicated to further advancement. In the future, updates might come at a slower pace, but our aim is for each one to incorporate significant changes.

The remainder of the article provides a general overview of upcoming repairs for the next few months. However, firstly, Build A Rocket Boy has postponed the release of its collaboration with Hitman, which was initially scheduled for July. Unfortunately, they have not specified a new date or even given an estimated timeframe; instead, they merely announced that it has been delayed and expressed their eagerness to “share this thrilling crossover when the moment is perfect.

Moving ahead, August is when MindsEye will roll out its fourth major upgrade, offering an enhancement for both PC and console platforms. In addition to this, this update will incorporate community-requested features such as the ability to skip cutscenes and quick access to user-generated content on PC.

By September, MindsEye will undergo a significant system-wide upgrade, further enhancing its functionality and offering more precise “gameplay advancements,” along with several refinements to fundamental gameplay features.

Furthermore, the future of MindsEye by Build A Rocket Boy is clouded with uncertainty after its rocky launch in June, which was marred by technical issues and visual glitches that sparked frustration and ridicule across social media platforms. Even TopMob’s review of MindsEye labeled it as a “harshly uninteresting video game,” giving the game a score of 3/10 while overlooking most of its technical flaws.
