This week saw the launch of MindsEye, a fresh gaming venture by ex-Rockstar Games head Leslie Benzies and his team at Build a Rocket Boy. However, the rollout didn’t go as smoothly as planned, with the game running into several bugs and problems. Now, the developers have issued their response to these issues.
In a post on Reddit, Build a Rocket Boy expressed gratitude to players for enjoying the game and providing valuable feedback. He also admitted to encountering technical difficulties with the game’s performance on both PC and consoles.
The developer explained that they realize the current minimum requirements are quite demanding, but their team is tirelessly working to boost performance on standard hardware and consoles by incorporating enhancements from Unreal Engine V5.6. They promised to share details about when the Patch 3 update will be released, which includes these improvements, within the next day.
Today, June 11, we anticipate receiving further details about the latest update since it was announced on June 10. You can check out some of the challenges players have faced in the following videos.
IO Interactive, the creators of the Hitman series, released MindsEye, and their top executives deny allegations that people were paid to negatively review the game before it was launched. Before the release of MindsEye, several high-ranking officials from Build a Rocket Boy resigned.
Beyond just MindsEye, the game also offers a complimentary user-created mode for PC named Build.Mindseye, where players can design their own creations freely.
At its peak, MindsEye boasted approximately 3,300 simultaneous players via Steam, and it doesn’t appear in the top 100 list of most popular games currently being played on this platform.
Previously, Benzies served as president at Rockstar North, where he contributed significantly to various games, including the highly successful Grand Theft Auto V. After the launch of GTA V, he took a leave of absence and alleged that upon his return, he was denied access. Benzies filed a lawsuit against Take-Two for allegedly withheld royalties worth $150 million. Eventually, this dispute was settled confidentially.

At present, I’m engrossed in the game MINDSEYE, and I must say, it struggles with some extremely frustrating lag.
