At the debut of Miley Cyrus’s visual album “Something Beautiful” during the Tribeca Film Festival, the audience’s reaction was less enthusiastic and warm.
On Friday, Cyrus was accompanied by directors Brendan Walter and Jacob Bixenman, along with producer Panos Cosmatos, at a festival in New York City to talk about “Something Beautiful”. Halfway through the conversation, some unhappy fans, who seemingly believed the $800 ticket they bought was for a concert, started interrupting Cyrus and demanding a performance. (This information is sourced from Entertainment Weekly.)
In a video posted on X, an audience member can be heard disrupting the Q&A session, shouting at Cyrus, “I believed this was a concert. I spent $800.
A different spectator shouted, “Will you truly be performing songs?” This query seemed to be shared among many in the audience, causing quite a stir. Carly Rae Jepsen appeared taken aback by the situation.
Towards the latter part of the gathering, someone in the audience asked Cyrus to perform “The Climb”. Being the “Hannah Montana” actress, she said, “You need to start it,” before spontaneously singing the song without any backup. This off-the-cuff rendition sparked a wave of thunderous applause from the spectators.
On June 12th, I’ll be eagerly heading to the cinemas for “Something Beautiful,” a visual album by Cyrus that runs for approximately 55 minutes. This production aligns with her namesake musical project. In a previous interview, she shared that this project holds deep personal significance and she was cautious about not having too many references to protect its unique essence.
Cyrus expressed, ‘I desired to serve as a point of comparison.’ He explained, ‘It’s impossible to accomplish something unprecedented when numerous other women are featured prominently in your surroundings.’
