Recently, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige shared insights about the chances of Miles Morales making an appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). In a recent conversation, he discussed the likelihood of integrating Morales’ Spider-Man into the MCU, offering a general timeframe for when fans might expect to see this character.
Kevin Feige says Miles Morales’ Spider-Man won’t debut in MCU before 2027
In a chat with reporters at Marvel Studios’ office on the Disney lot in Burbank, California, Kevin Feige shared that there are currently no plans for a live-action Miles Morales project within the MCU.
Regarding queries about Miles Morales’ first appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Kevin Feige, the seasoned Marvel executive, plainly stated, “Morales’ Spider-Man is not yet happening.” He explained that the rights to Morales are currently held by Sony Pictures. “Sony has been busy with their outstanding Spider-Verse animated series, and until they wrap it up, we have been instructed to steer clear,” Feige continued. Currently, it’s planned that Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse will premiere in cinemas on June 25, 2027. Given this timeline, as stated by Kevin Feige, the character of Miles Morales’ Spider-Man won’t appear in any Marvel Cinematic Universe film or series before 2027 at the latest.
Although it’s unclear if Miles Morales will appear in upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) live-action projects, the character has already been subtly referenced in various MCU movies. For instance, in 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, Donald Glover’s Aaron Davis, also known as Prowler, mentioned having a nephew who resides in Queens. Similarly, the 2021 film Spider-Man: No Way Home suggested the existence of Miles Morales within the MCU when Jamie Foxx’s Electro commented about a Black Spider-Man somewhere in the universe.
It appears that the Marvel Cinematic Universe has set up Miles Morales’ introduction, but based on Kevin Feige’s comments, it might be quite some time before we actually see him in action.
