As a long-time fan of Mike Tyson, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and concern as we approach the much-anticipated fight between him and Jake Paul. Tyson, a living legend, has faced numerous challenges both inside and outside the ring throughout his career, making him a true survivor in the world of boxing. His resilience is unparalleled, and his recent health issues are just another testament to that.
As a dedicated fan, I’m thrilled to share the exciting news that Mike Tyson himself has confirmed that his health concerns leading up to his highly-anticipated bout with Jake Paul have been successfully addressed. Previously, there were valid worries that the fight might face cancellation at the last minute, but fortunately, it seems those fears can now be put to rest.
Initially, Jake Paul and Mike Tyson were set to fight in July. Unfortunately, Mike Tyson’s ulcer acting up during a flight across America forced them to cancel the fight. After Jake Paul beat Mike Perry instead, they decided to reschedule their encounter for mid-November.
Despite Tyson’s health complications causing the initial fight to be canceled, additional worries have surfaced. It is said that Netflix has mandated stricter pre-fight medical examinations to make sure the bout takes place this time around.
It was also mentioned that they wouldn’t find out the outcome of those tests until the day of the fight itself, implying a last-minute cancellation if the renowned heavyweight boxer couldn’t participate.
As a devoted fan, I must say that despite the hiccups, the 58-year-old has reassured us all that he’s on the mend. On October 30, in an interview with TalkSport, he openly shared about his health issue: an ulcer caused by poor dietary choices. To alleviate any concerns, Tyson himself expressed gratitude when asked if he had overcome the worst of it.

Despite the widespread concerns about his health, Tyson is supported by Jake to be fit and ready for the fight night.
In a departure from his typical practice, ‘The Problem Child’ has made it clear that Tyson is non-negotiable for him, meaning no other boxer will be drafted if Tyson can’t fight. This contrasts with how he had a standby fighter like Perry back in July.
It’s been suggested that Jake might quit boxing after this upcoming bout, instead focusing on mixed martial arts (MMA). However, he hasn’t made his PFL debut yet. Interestingly, Jake has set his sights on becoming a boxing world champion as well.
