Microsoft Launches Beta For AI Chatbot That Reads Your Xbox Profile

I’m thrilled to share the news that Microsoft has unveiled a beta version of their Copilot for Gaming, accessible on mobile devices! As a gaming enthusiast, I can’t wait to jump on board and test this innovative integration of AI assistance on my Xbox platform, available now for iOS and Android users. Let’s see how this revolutionary step in gaming evolves!

In a recent blog update, Microsoft announced that users of the mobile Xbox app’s beta version now have the opportunity to test out Copilot for Gaming’s chatbot features. This AI-powered assistant is designed to connect with your Xbox account, allowing it to respond to queries about your Xbox gaming history, current games, general game information, and various other topics.

Microsoft indicates that Copilot will be capable of responding to specific or contextual questions, such as gameplay strategies, tips to boost your Gamerscore, or locating uncommon achievements within certain games. At present, Copilot combines data from your Xbox profile with information gathered via Bing searches, but Microsoft is working on more personalized features. However, the frequency and manner in which Copilot will collect data from profiles remains undisclosed, and Microsoft has not yet clarified how its responses might reference sources it gathers while searching Bing. Lastly, while Copilot is currently responsive—it waits for you to ask a question—Microsoft also mentions that proactive guidance for in-game activities is under development.

The gaming Copilot’s beta version is accessible in numerous countries such as the United States and Canada, however, its release in the UK and other European countries is still pending. The company is actively working towards expanding its availability to additional regions in due time.

Microsoft has been quite bustling with announcements regarding AI features being incorporated into games. For example, they unveiled their intentions to embed Copilot directly within Minecraft in May. Additionally, the tech company has been advocating for AI to produce game content, like the development of a Quake II level using an AI model.
