Microsoft increases prices for Xbox consoles, controllers, headsets, and soon also games

The steep $80 price of Mario Kart World for Nintendo Switch 2 ignited a wave of discussion, establishing a new benchmark for the gaming industry. Initially, fans were perplexed by the $450 cost of the latest Nintendo handheld, questioning Nintendo’s strategy. Following this, Sony introduced an increase in PlayStation Plus subscription fees, and now Microsoft is following suit with price hikes not only for their consoles and accessories but also for games, except for Game Pass subscriptions.

Xbox raises prices on consoles, accessories, and games

Microsoft has disclosed that certain upcoming video games will retail at $79.99 from the onset of this holiday season. Consequently, the price increase won’t be implemented until the end of the year. Regrettably, both the console and accessory prices have risen as of today. Here are the new costs:
