Through the Xbox official website, you can find the Xbox Adaptive Controller, a modified version of the regular Xbox controller, featuring four standard buttons and additional controls for bumper and trigger functions. However, it’s the thumbstick that stands out, as it is highly customizable to cater to individual gamer needs. Microsoft has developed various thumbsticks that can be 3D printed and fitted into the Xbox Adaptive Controller. Among these options, there’s one that enables players to control movement using their chin if they are unable to use their hands.
During Gamescom’s live broadcast, Kaitlyn Jones from Xbox shared through The Verge that individuals with disabilities were instrumental in testing early prototypes of the adaptive joystick. Their valuable feedback influenced the refinement of the controller’s final design and pricing structure.
