1923’s actress Michelle Randolph played roles in another captivating streaming series titled “Landman” by Taylor Sheridan. However, the characters she portrayed in both shows could not contrast more starkly.
In the spin-off of Yellowstone, the character portrayed by the star is named Elizabeth (or “Liz”). Her role as the captivating, ardent love interest of Jack Dutton becomes far more complex than she anticipated as she becomes part of the Dutton clan on their perilous ranch.
However, in November 2024, she portrayed Ainsley, the teenage child of landman Tommy Norris in Landman. Ainsley’s character garnered criticism from viewers due to its overtly sexualized nature.
Nonetheless, Randolph remained firm in upholding her personality. In her conversation with TopMob regarding the likenesses between Liz and Ainsley, she subtly indicated the role that was more enjoyable for her to portray.
Michelle Randolph laughs more with Landman character
As the anticipation grew for the start of the 1923 Season 2 in 1923, Randolph had a conversation with TopMob regarding the series’ success and Landman. When inquired about her favorite character, she provided a tactful response.
She finds it quite challenging to make comparisons between them, she admitted. In essence, she explained that Ainsley is simply distinct. Ainsley radiates lightness and joy, unlike Elizabeth who experiences sorrow and hardship.
I feel strongly connected to both characters, and it’s hard for me to pick one I prefer. Instead, they are distinct, and I find myself laughing more during scenes with Ainsley.

When considering the two characters, it’s evident that Ainsley Norris generated more laughter. Her dialogue was extravagant, and she had a lively, optimistic perspective on life and love, making her an energetic and entertaining character.

Nevertheless, it appears that Randolph believes Liz may still show up, expressing to TopMob that she embodies an unwavering optimism.
