The image shared by Gunn depicted Rooker seated near a fire, as seen in the trailer, but this snapshot shows him from behind rather than his face being visible.

Spectators expressed surprise when Rooker was spotted wearing Native American garb, even though he is a white actor. This raised many questions about the character he will portray in Peacemaker Season 2. This is his third role within the wider DC Universe – previously, he played Savant in The Suicide Squad (2021) and provided the voice for a minor character named Sam in Creature Commandos (2024).
