This year’s Christmas joke swap on “Weekend Update” wasn’t a fair exchange. Michael Che wrote a series of jokes exclusively for Colin Jost, despite previously agreeing to end the tradition last year. One of the jokes Jost delivered referenced a recent study about women leaving the workforce due to menopause, and included a picture of his wife, Scarlett Johansson. He joked about her experiencing hot flashes, even saying she was already complaining of being warm and sweaty – all while she was watching from backstage. While Johansson likely earns more than Jost, the joke implied he’s benefiting financially from their relationship, which many found ridiculous, especially considering his recent failed investment in a ferry service.
