Metro 2039 gets official reveal ahead of April showcase

The next installment in the Metro video game series, Metro 2039, has been officially confirmed. Fans can expect a detailed reveal very soon.

I can’t believe it’s been over seven years since Metro Exodus came out! As a big fan, I, like a lot of others, have been eagerly waiting to see what would happen next with the series. It all started with Metro 2033 back in 2010, and then Metro: Last Light in 2013 – those games really made Metro one of my favorite franchises ever.

The wait is over! Metro 2039 has been officially announced by Xbox Wire, following an online leak on April 12th, confirming a new installment in the Metro series is coming.

Metro 2039 officially announced by Xbox Wire

While the game was confirmed by Xbox Wire, not many details are known about the game just yet. It stands to reason that it’ll also be a post-apocalyptic first-person shooter just like its predecessors and will still be based on the iconic novels of Dmitry Glukhovsky.
