As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt and a particular fondness for JRPGs, I must say that Atlus’ Metaphor: ReFantazio has truly caught my attention. The game’s impressive sales figures on its debut day are nothing short of astonishing, and while it’s already a visual delight on standard resolutions, the ultrawide support is the cherry on top for me.
Atlus’ game Metaphor: ReFantazio is off to an amazing beginning, surpassing the one million sales mark on its launch day alone. However, it’s worth noting that the PC version of the game doesn’t currently support ultrawide resolutions. Fortunately, the PC gaming community has a workaround, courtesy of user ‘Lyall’ on GitHub. The Metaphor: ReFantazio Fix mod offers not just ultrawide support, but also additional beneficial features to enhance your gameplay experience.

If you find the speed lines during gameplay annoying, this modification offers an option to turn them off. Additionally, the Metaphor: ReFantazio Fix mod provides beneficial features such as bypassing all startup logos, allowing users to adjust detail distance, ambient occlusion resolution, shadow resolution, and other aspects for a more personalized experience.
Installing the Metaphor: ReFantazio Fix mod is super simple. Simply download the zip file from GitHub and extract the zip’s contents into the “steamapps\common\METAPHOR” folder. This is easily accessed by right clicking Metaphor: ReFantazio in your Steam Library, highlight “Manage”, and choose “Browse local files”. In order to adjust the settings offered by the Metaphor: ReFantazio Fix mod, open up the “MetaphorFix.ini” file and follow the instructions in it.
Apart from that, I’ve gone ahead and added the mod myself, capturing some images showcasing its stylish appearance sans speed lines.
You can now find ReFantazio on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam). There’s a Prologue Demo for the game that allows you to carry over your saved progress directly into the full version.
