Metaphor ReFantazio Demon Cameos: all the SMT and Persona crossover summons from the Devil Summoner Archetype

As a seasoned veteran of the mystical realms and the mortal world alike, I’ve had the privilege of crossing paths with some truly extraordinary beings. Among them are the Kishin, Vishnu, Shiva, and Beelzebub – deities and demons summoned by those gifted with the art of Royal Summonery.

Even though ReFantazio is a fresh game with no narrative connections to Atlus’ previous projects, it pays tribute to their past creations in various ways. For instance, it offers playful job classes based on Archetypes, such as the Soul Hacker, Devil Summoner, and Persona Master, which are clear references to some games they’ve previously developed.

Among all, the Devil Summoner stands out as an advanced version of the Summoner character type. This special ability becomes accessible to the whole team once Eupha is added as a Companion. When you advance your relationship with Eupha to Follower Bond Rank 6, you gain access to the Devil Summoner Elite Class. This class shares similarities with the Summoner class, which involves crafting Vessels using More’s Special Experiments found in Akademeia.

Instead of conjuring the monsters from Metaphor: ReFantazio as a Summoner would, the Devil Summoner invokes numerous demons that appear in the Shin Megami Tensei and Persona series by Atlus. Here’s an enjoyable list showcasing some of the iconic demons now available in Metaphor: ReFantazio.

Cu Chulainn

• Appears in:

    • Deals heavy physical Pierce damage to one enemy. Lowers their Defence for 3 turns.
    • Requires crafting the Shattering Spear Vessel

Cerberus

• Appears in:
  • Devil Summoner – Archetype Skill: Summon Beast (18 MP)
    • Deals heavy magic Fire damage to one enemy. May inflict Burn.
    • Requires crafting the Collared Beast Vessel

Black Frost

• Appears in:
  • Devil Summoner – Archetype Skill: Summon Night (46 MP)
    • Deals heavy magic Ice damage to all enemies. Ignores resistances. May inflict Frostbite.
    • Requires crafting the Black Frost Vessel

Mothman

• Appears in:

    • Deals medium magic Electric damage to all enemies.
    • Requires crafting the Esoteric Hair Vessel

Decarabia

• Appears in:
  • Devil Summoner – Archetype Skill: Summon Fallen (30 MP)
    • Raises a barrier that repels one Slash / Pierce / Strike attack for one ally.
    • Requires crafting the Pentagram Vessel

Lakshmi

• Appears in:
  • Devil Summoner – Archetype Skill: Summon Megami (20 MP)
    • Fully restores HP to one ally.
    • Requires crafting the Lotus Flower Vessel

Ishtar

• Appears in:
  • Royal Summoner – Archetype Skill: Summon Harvest God (80 MP)
    • Revives any allies from KO and restores all to full HP.

Thor

• Appears in:

Vishnu

    • Requires crafting the Conch Shell Vessel

Shiva

    • Required Ally: Knight, Healer, or Commander Lineages
    • Requires crafting the Trident Vessel
