Meghan McCain Calls Out ABC News for Not Having Any Conservative Women on ‘The View’ Who Voted for Donald Trump

As a former co-host of “The View” and the daughter of the esteemed Senator John McCain, I find it disheartening to see the lack of diversity in political viewpoints on the show. Meghan McCain‘s assertion about the absence of conservative women who voted for Trump is a valid concern that needs addressing. In my time on the show, I was often the lone voice in a sea of liberal opinions, and it wasn’t always an easy ride.

Meghan McCain criticized “The View” during its Wednesday broadcast, expressing her view that no female guest on the program had supported Donald Trump in the recent elections and thus was unable to offer a unique perspective on the election outcomes.

On Wednesday, a post from a former co-host of “The View” stated, “It’s truly misconduct by ABC News not to have a conservative woman on the show today, who either voted for Trump or finds his followers unappealing, to clarify to the public why he still has such widespread support.

McCain’s remark was made one day following the broadcast of the show’s election episode, where its lone conservative host, Alyssa Farah Griffin, disclosed her vote for Kamala Harris. Previously working as a staff member in the White House and an advisor to Donald Trump, Griffin declared publicly to her fellow hosts (Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Ana Navarro, Sara Haines, and Sunny Hostin) that “for the first time ever, I voted for a Democratic candidate.

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but reflect on Meghan McCain’s tenure at “The View.” She stepped into the role of co-host in 2017, following in her late father’s footsteps, the esteemed Sen. John McCain. However, after four years, she chose to bid farewell to the show in 2021. Since then, she’s been candid about the emotional toll the show took on her, primarily due to the constant clashes that would erupt between us, as the lone conservative voice, and my more liberal co-hosts.

On Wednesday morning, McCain continued his social media engagement following Tuesday’s sudden electoral pace. Last night, it was formally announced that Donald Trump had triumphed in the 2024 presidential race, having secured victory in Pennsylvania.

This morning, McCain expressed in another tweet: “Experiencing my father’s brain cancer journey taught me one valuable lesson – at some stage, faith becomes crucial, and you must trust that everything is in the hands of God. I pray that all parties extend grace during this time, making it a chance for us as Americans to unite, heal, and grow stronger together.
