As a devoted fan of Young Sheldon and its spinoff series, I find myself utterly baffled by the absence of Meemaw from the Coopers’ Thanksgiving celebrations in Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage. Her omission serves as a poignant reminder that she deserves her very own spinoff!

Despite fans’ disappointment that Meemaw was excluded from the Coopers’ Thanksgiving festivities during Georgie and Mandy’s first marriage, her omission suggests she deserves a standalone Young Sheldon spinoff focusing on her life.

In Episode 5 of the latest TV series, the main cast from Young Sheldon came together once more. This episode delved into the shared challenge that Georgie and Mary faced during the festive season as they grappled with their sorrow.

Following a heated argument between Jim and Audrey, Georgie proposes that Mary spends Thanksgiving at George’s gravesite. Both Mary and Missy attend, yet it seems Meemaw chooses to stay apart.

It’s become apparent that there was a good case for giving Meemaw her own spinoff series, given that creators chose not to do so initially.

It seems that Meemaw is appearing less frequently in the series Georgie & Mandy. Her absence from George’s grave serves as a reminder that she had a significant past before her grandchildren were born.

Through the previous seasons of Young Sheldon, it’s been shown that Sheldon and Mary had a strained relationship due to Mary working irregular hours. This separation seems to have contributed to Mary’s perceived rebellious phase, culminating in young George fathering a child with her.

One user on Reddit expressed, “I believe they should have named [Georgie & Mandy] ‘The Coopers.’ That way, everyone would have been content.” Another added, “I hope she features prominently in the Georgie and Mandy spinoff as she is among my top three favorite characters in the Big Bang Theory/Young Sheldon/Georgie and Mandy universe.

A third wrote: “Her version of Young Sheldon maybe. It could leave off when Mary meets George, which would spin into Mary and George, a show about their story.”

It was surprising for fans to notice her absence from the final Thanksgiving scene in the Young Sheldon spinoff, as she had a complex bond with George. However, during crucial moments, their relationship proved to be supportive, as evident by Meemaw’s heartfelt eulogy at his funeral.

Personally speaking as a passionate fan, I found myself reflecting on who truly belonged at the grave, and it struck me that the core family seemed fitting. This storyline, in my opinion, centered around Mary, Georgie, and Missy, primarily, and the loss of George. Meemaw undeniably played a role, but it felt essential to have the core family present for the most impactful visual representation.

Additionally, the humor was heightened as we returned to the McAllister residence. It was amusing because a motley crew of individuals found themselves stranded there – it felt odd that Dale and MeeMaw were essentially trapped, hosting Thanksgiving without their relatives.

At the moment, it’s undecided whether Meemaw will make further appearances in Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, but given the enthusiastic responses from fans, it seems likely that she’ll reappear in some form or another.
