Actress Aimee Lou Wood from the White Lotus Season 3 has responded to Saturday Night Live’s portrayal of her, labeling it as “unkind” and “not funny.
2025 has seen quite a buzz around me, as I’ve been glued to my screen watching The White Lotus Season 3. Every moment, every move – it seems like everyone’s dissecting the show, from what they think are unforgivable blunders to those clever hints that were subtly dropped earlier.
The story reached an intense, full-length climax, resembling a gory spectacle, as it saw both cherished and popular characters either making it through or meeting their end.
The show gained significant cultural relevance, eventually leading Saturday Night Live to create a satirical skit depicting caricatures of the Trump family. However, one particular joke drew intense criticism from viewers as well as the subject of the joke itself.
White Lotus star calls SNL impression “mean and unfunny”

In this particular illustration, titled ‘The White Potus,’ the Ratliff clan is transformed into the Trumps. James Austin Johnson portrays Donald Trump, while Timothy Ratliff, previously played by Jason Isaacs, assumes his role.
Apart from satirizing the First Family, the sketch also delved into the Rick and Chelsea plotline. In this iteration, John Hamm played Robert F Kennedy as Walton Goggins’ character Rick, while Sarah Sherman took on the role of Aimee Lou Wood’s character Chelsea.
Instead, it was the character he portrayed that faced criticism, as Sherman put on false teeth to mimic the famous actor from the White Lotus series.
On my Instagram stories, I penned: “What a pity! I thoroughly enjoyed it just a fortnight back. Of course, it’s meant to poke fun, but couldn’t they find a wittier, subtler, less crass approach?
Nevertheless, Wood disclosed that she was flooded with numerous messages of encouragement after the sketch, and eventually, she disclosed receiving an apology from SNL.
