McDonald’s pizza is finally coming back on the menu, but there’s a catch

McDonald’s is bringing back a pizza-like dish that many people adore, as it satisfies almost everyone with a sense of taste… to some extent.

In the 80s, McDonald’s offered a McPizza on their menu. However, this classic pizza didn’t gain much favor among customers, and it was a mismatch for McDonald’s, as it took more than 10 minutes to prepare – which deviated from their standard of swiftly prepared meals.

Despite the McPizza being removed from menus in the early 2000s, McDonald’s still occasionally experiments with pizza offerings.

2023 saw the introduction of Pizza Pockets, or ‘Pizzataschen’, by McDonald’s Germany. These tasty treats were filled with a blend of marinara sauce and cheese, all neatly enclosed within layers of dough.

In 2025, McDonald’s plans to level up its offerings by reintroducing pizza in North America. Be prepared for a small journey to enjoy a slice.

McDonald’s Canada is adding pizza to the menu

On June 20th, the official McDonald’s Canada social media platforms shared an image teasing a “confidential” food option from their menu.

I can’t reveal the contents just yet, but feel free to take a closer look and make your best guess. Unfortunately, there’s no way for me to prevent that.

The picture features what seems to be a confidential file dated June 24, 2025, and it appears that the readable text says “Pizza Bit,” possibly referring to “Pizza Bites.

At the upper part of the image, you’ll find a picture that seems reminiscent of McDonald’s Italy’s Panzerotti product.

It seems quite probable that the dish being referred to is ‘Pizzataschen’, originating from Germany. A sneak peek for McDonald’s Canada previously depicted The Hamburglar transporting a car on a map, starting from Germany and ending in Canada. The video concluded with the message “Arrives in Canada June 24.

It seems someone handed over a USB drive with a message reading “Upload these files to McDonald’s Canada accounts; thanks and goodbye.” So, I’m wondering what the context is behind this request.

While it might not resemble the classic McPizza that Northern American fans are accustomed to, let’s observe how this new product resonates with our northern consumers instead.

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but eagerly anticipate the arrival of the elusive Snap Wraps and the colossal Big Arch burger at my local McDonald’s here in the U.S. These highly anticipated additions to the menu are keeping us patrons on the edge of our seats!
