As a seasoned movie reviewer who’s seen more Hollywood blockbusters than I care to count (and a few B-movies that shall remain nameless), I must say that the casting of Rosa Salazar as Maddie Paris in “Einstein” has me genuinely excited!
Actress Rosa Salazar has been chosen for a main character in “Einstein,” a new CBS series, according to our latest updates.
The project has been labeled as a dramatic piece with comical hints. Back in August, it was selected for a trial run at CBS, and news about David Gubler’s role as Lew Einstein was revealed in early October. This production is a reinterpretation of the original German series bearing the same title.
A gifted yet aimless individual, who happens to be Albert Einstein’s great grandson (Gubler), typically spends his days as a secure university professor. However, his reckless behavior gets him into legal trouble, forcing him to assist a local detective (Salazar) in resolving her most perplexing cases.
Detective Inspector Maddie Paris, formerly of the New Jersey State Police, is the character introduced in this narrative. Following the loss of her spouse, she chose to pursue a career in law enforcement. Known for her keen intellect and strict discipline, Maddie sets high expectations for her team members and consistently pushes herself beyond those standards. However, she grapples with inner turmoil when it comes to collaborating with Professor Einstein.
Actress Salazar will be featured in the upcoming Marvel film, “Captain America: Brave New World,” playing the character Rachel Leighton, better known as Diamondback. The movie is scheduled for release in February. Salazar has previously starred in films such as “Alita: Battle Angel,” the “Maze Runner” series, “Marcel the Shell with Shoes On,” and “Bird Box.” She will also appear alongside Mark Wahlberg and LaKeith Stanfield in the Amazon MGM film “Play Dirty.” In television, Salazar is recognized for her roles in shows like “Parenthood,” “Undone,” and “Brand New Cherry Flavor.” Additionally, she has served as a producer on “Undone” and co-producer on “Brand New Cherry Flavor.
She is repped by IAG, Jackoway Austen Tyerman, and Align PR.
Andy Breckman takes charge as both writer and head producer for the pilot, while Randy Zisk assumes directing and executive producing roles. Tariq Jalil, Rose Hughes, Rodrigo Herrera Ibarguengoytia, and Laura Beetz of Seven One Studios International are also involved as executive producers. In addition to his starring role, Gubler is credited as a producer as well. CBS Studios will handle production responsibilities.
