Multi-Shot Attack | ![]() | Ragkus loads his weapon and fires arrows that slightly home in on your location. He does this three times, so it’s best to dodge each attack. |

Kick | ![]() | This is a simple kick attack, but the boss delays it significantly. Both dodging and guarding are effective options. |
Powered Slam | ![]() | Rangkus charges his weapon briefly before slamming the ground in front of you. A well-timed Perfect Guard is ideal, but if you’re unsure, it’s safer to run out of the area to avoid any risk. |
Flame Shot | ![]() | The boss dashes back, loads his weapon, and then shoots out a trail of fire. It’s best to dodge as soon as you see the fire setting in on the weapon. |
Blazing Spin | ![]() | Rangkus starts spinning around, releasing streams of fire. This should not be blocked—you must stay on the move and dodge when the fire stream is next to you. He finishes the attack with a ground slam. |
Burst Attack | ![]() | A simple dash back followed by a delayed attack—be ready to time your Brink Guard correctly. |
Flame Bolts | ![]() | The boss runs toward you while shooting multiple flaming bolts, ending the attack with a grab. Dodge both the bolts and the grab when you hear the audio cue. |
3-Hit Grapple Combo | ![]() | Rangkus performs a flaming horizontal strike, grapples across the room, shoots a stream of fire, and then slams his weapon on the ground. Dodge the first two attacks to avoid fire damage, then prepare a Brink Guard for the slam. |
Ground Shatter | ![]() | The boss spins his weapon on his head before slamming it into the ground, creating a flaming shockwave and embedding the weapon, causing a large area to erupt. Brink Guard the slam and dodge the eruption to avoid flame damage. |
5-Hit Bludgeon Flames | ![]() | Rangkus starts with three normal bludgeon attacks, then ignites his weapon and strikes twice, with the last hit being delayed. Guard the first three attacks, then dodge the final two. |
How To Beat Rangkus In The First Berserker: Khazan
Rangkus is a tricky boss because he has an unpredictable attack rhythm. Some of his hits seem delayed but come on instantly, which makes Brink Guarding tough initially. However, it’s beneficial to note that several of his attacks are more effectively dodged than blocked to prevent receiving burn damage.
He alterates his actions according to the distance, but it’s best to stay near him to avoid his long-range multi-shots and bursts of flame. Dodging his ranged attacks will tire him out, which can lead to a more aggressive strategy. However, if given the chance, he can recover his stamina by drinking, so be prepared to interrupt him when necessary.
In this battle, fire is crucial. Once Rangkus has lost about 40% of his health, most of his attacks will cause him to ignite unless you time your deflections accurately. Flame Cleanse Potions are invaluable in this situation and can be effortlessly gathered by quickly traveling to Embars Temple’s entrance (Blade Nexus). You’ll discover these potions for sale from the Bard, located on the second floor, just beyond the praying dragonkin. If you have a Flame Resistant Necklace or Ring, wearing them will also reduce the impact of burn damage.

The move that’s likely to disorient you the most is the “Blazing Spin”. In this move, Rangkus keeps spinning and emits flames in all directions. To counter this, you need to keep moving throughout, as getting pinned down even once can result in multiple hits. Evade when the flames approach closely, but be aware of your stamina—make sure you have enough left to defend against his final slam.
No matter what weapon you prefer, refrain from taking excessive hits as it may lead to overconfidence. The Rangkus can swiftly execute a kick attack that drains your stamina, making you vulnerable and potentially harming your health. To ensure your safety, consider upgrading your armor and weapons at the Blacksmith if you haven’t done so already.
