As a lifelong Mass Effect fan who’s spent countless hours exploring the galaxy as Commander Shepard, I couldn’t be more thrilled about the upcoming TV series at Amazon MGM Studios! While N7 Day didn’t bring us a new game announcement, the success of the Fallout show has me hopeful for an epic space adventure.

On the very day of N7 Day, a special announcement emerged from Variety on the 7th of November 2024. This news item reveals that a Mass Effect television show is now being produced at Amazon MGM Studios. Needless to say, my enthusiasm level is sky-high!

Although there was no announcement for Mass Effect 5 on N7 Day, the upcoming TV series from Amazon, similar to the successful Fallout show, gives fans hope for the future. At this moment, specifics about the series’ plot, episode length, timeline, and potential actors portraying Commander Shepard remain undisclosed.

What’s been revealed so far regarding the Mass Effect TV series are the names of certain producers and scriptwriters.

  • Daniel Casey will produce and write: You might know him from the Midsomer Murders 1990s show and, more recently, worked on F9: The Fast Saga’s screenplay.
  • Cedar Tree Productions: They have a deal with Amazon MGM studios and Karim Zreik will be an executive producer for the Mass Effect series. Karim Zreik has worked as an executive producer on some of my favorite older Marvel shows, including Jessica Jones, Dardevil and Legion.
  • Ari Arad to produce: He has worked on the likes of Ghost in the Shell, Iron Man and Borderlands as an executive producer.

Additionally, it’s reported that Michael Gamble from BioWare/EA is not only involved in the development but also producing the upcoming Mass Effect game.

Daniel Casey is all set to pen and oversee the production of this adaptation. Karim Zreik will assume the role of executive producer under his Cedar Tree Productions label, with Ari Arad and Michael Gamble from EA also taking up the executive producer position. Notably, Cedar Tree Productions is currently bound by an overall agreement at Amazon MGM Studios.

1) Our confidence is bolstered by the team working on the project, along with the proven success of Amazon’s Fallout video game adaptation, as well as their consistent delivery of high-quality exclusive content over the past few years.

Keep an eye out, we’ll let you know right away if any fresh details regarding the Mass Effect series emerge!
