Daredevil and Kingpin are set to clash again in Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again. Their rivalry began when Matt Murdock fought crime as Daredevil and Wilson Fisk ruled the criminal underworld, and has continued even after Fisk became the Mayor of New York. While they’ve only had two major physical fights across the original Netflix series and the Disney+ revival so far, a third showdown is coming soon.
Daredevil and Kingpin’s conflict isn’t usually a direct fight. They typically battle through strategy, political maneuvering, and by using their respective networks. However, when they do physically fight, it’s always an incredible showdown. The upcoming second season of Daredevil: Born Again is set to end a seven-year period without a physical confrontation between the two, with trailers confirming at least one major fight scene.
Short clips from trailers for Daredevil: Born Again show a tense face-off between Wilson Fisk and Matt Murdock, both appearing as regular citizens. In Season 2, Episode 3, Fisk publicly announced Murdock as a missing person, hoping to draw the masked vigilante, Daredevil, out of hiding—unaware Murdock is secretly Daredevil.

Although they seem friendly in this picture, their peace won’t last. Another photo reveals Matt, dressed as Daredevil, battling Fisk in what appears to be an underground location, like a bunker or cellar.

Let me tell you, Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin is back in Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again, and he’s been working on his physique! He’s not just a criminal mastermind this time around; he’s physically imposing and a real threat in the boxing ring. He’s bigger, stronger, and honestly, he looks like he could easily overpower Daredevil. It’s a fantastic addition to his already terrifying presence.

I recently read an interview with Vincent D’Onofrio where he talked about the fight scene between Daredevil and Kingpin in Season 2. He said it’s going to feel a lot like the gritty, intense fights we loved in the original Netflix series – which, as a huge fan, is exactly what I wanted to hear!
The fight scene feels a lot like the action from the original Netflix series. It’s definitely more intense than what we’ve done recently. Personally, I really enjoy those scenes. It’s rare for me and [Cox] to share scenes together, and he’s become such a skilled actor in this role that it’s always exciting to work with him.

D’Onofrio explained that the fight scenes between the characters feel impactful because they aren’t overly common; too many fights would lessen their effect.
We know fans would love to see these characters interact more often, but everyone understands it wouldn’t have the same impact if it happened constantly. Charlie and I have been playing these roles for a long time, and the fact that we’re still passionate about them shows how much we care about doing them justice for the show.
The brawl in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 marks the first physical fight between Daredevil and Kingpin since the show moved to Disney+. The previous two fights between them happened during the original Netflix series.

The first showdown between Daredevil and Kingpin happened in the last episode of the first season of the Netflix series. Daredevil tracked down Fisk, who was fleeing from the police, and revealed his new red costume. They then fought a fierce battle, which Daredevil eventually won.

The fight was the result of a long-running feud. Fisk accused Daredevil of ruining his vision for the city, angrily stating, “I wanted to improve this city, to make it beautiful, but you destroyed that! You took everything from me!”

Man, the ending of Daredevil Season 3 was intense! Right after Fisk and Vanessa got married, he and Murdock had another huge fight. This time, it was different – Murdock actually wanted to kill Fisk, believing it was the only way to stop him. It was a really tough moment because Murdock usually has such a strong moral code, and this would have been crossing a line for him.

The battle includes Dex/Bullseye (Wilson Bethel), but he’s quickly taken out of the fight after Fisk paralyzes him. Daredevil faces Fisk wearing his original, simpler black suit from the first season.

Daredevil defeats Fisk and nearly kills him, but he stops, even though Fisk provokes him and Vanessa begs him to end it. Instead of killing him, Daredevil ensures Fisk will spend the rest of his life in prison.

The conflict between Daredevil and Wilson Fisk is building again in Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again, and it looks like it will inevitably lead to a fight. This upcoming battle is particularly exciting because it will be the first time they clash while wearing their signature looks: Daredevil in his black suit and Fisk in his white tuxedo.
The second season of Daredevil: Born Again premiered on Disney+ on March 24th, with new episodes released every Tuesday until May 5th. The season features returning stars Charlie Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio, Wilson Bethel, Deborah Ann Woll, Ayelet Zurer, and Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones.
What to Expect From Daredevil Vs Fisk Round 3
The fights between Kingpin and Daredevil have always been incredibly violent. According to actor Vincent D’Onofrio, the fight scenes in the upcoming season of Daredevil: Born Again will continue that trend, bringing back the intense, brutal action that fans loved in the original Netflix series.
Daredevil has won both of his fights against Fisk, demonstrating superior fighting ability. However, Fisk is now training in boxing, likely to prepare for a rematch. This means Daredevil could face a significantly improved and more dangerous Fisk next time, and might not be ready for the challenge.
A compelling direction for Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again would be to show Daredevil losing a fight – perhaps to Wilson Fisk. It would be fascinating to see the consequences for Matt Murdock after a defeat, and how it might push him to seek help from his fellow heroes, the Defenders.
