Marvel Secretly Snuck 4 Huge Avengers Cast Members Past Fans in Doomsday Reveal!

It appears that Marvel intentionally did not include four significant characters from the cast of Avengers: Doomsday, who have previously been mentioned as having roles.

27 actors were formally announced as part of the star-studded cast during Marvel Studios’ live-streamed event on March 26, which generated immense excitement among fans with its chair-filled presentation – the highly anticipated film being none other than “Avengers: Doomsday”.

In the unveiling for Doomsday, we saw everyone from Thor, Namor, to the entire Fantastic Four gradually revealed, seated in a line of progressively exposed chairs. However, there were numerous characters whose participation was not mentioned, and Marvel has hinted that more cast confirmations are on the way.

The 4 Major Names Missing from the Avengers: Doomsday Announcement

Although many actors are already set to appear in 2026’s “Avengers: Doomsday”, it has been confirmed through various sources that four individuals will be part of the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in their upcoming cinematic adventure.

Chris Evans

In December 2024, it’s been officially announced that Chris Evans will revisit the Marvel Cinematic Universe in “Avengers: Doomsday.

For nearly a decade, from 2011 to 2020, Evans portrayed the selfless character Steve Rogers, who was the first Avenger and the original Captain America in ten films across the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In addition, he delivered an uproariously funny guest appearance as the foul-mouthed Johnny Storm in the 2024 film “Deadpool & Wolverine”.

In the future, it appears quite plausible that Chris Evans might assume a fresh character or perhaps a variant of his iconic role. There’s buzz that Steve Rogers could turn villainous in the film “Doomsday” as an evil counterpart from another universe, known as the Malevolent Multiverse Version of Captain America.

This unexpected turn could leave audiences stunned, given that Steve has typically been seen as unyielding and beyond reproach. However, via the Marvel Multiverse, anything can transpire. Maybe this Steve didn’t have Bucky to guide him during his formative years, leading him down a dismal path instead, where Hydra managed to exert its influence on him.

Hayley Atwell

Towards the end of last year, it was disclosed that another cast member from the movie “Captain America: The First Avenger” had been added to “Avengers: Doomsday”: Hayley Atwell. Notably, Atwell has already shown her dedication to not only “Doomsday”, but also its sequel, “Avengers: Secret Wars”, as reported by Variety.

It appears that there is agreement among many that Hayley Atwell will once again portray the character of Captain Carter, who was given the Super Soldier Serum and whose identity is Peggy Carter Variant. This character was introduced in the first season of What If…?, where she received the serum instead of Steve Rogers, transforming her into a wartime heroine during conflict times.

In the following seasons of “What If…?”, Captain Carter made a return, and she also appeared in the live-action film “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness”, albeit as a different version of her character from the animated “What If…?” series.

In the thrilling finale of the “What If…?” series, I found myself marveling at the moment when Peggy and her comrades were granted cosmic might by Uatu the Watcher. Now dwelling on the Observational Plane, having absorbed the complete powers of a Watcher, it’s safe to say that Peggy is ready to deliver a formidable blow in “Avengers: Doomsday.

Tom Holland

In the last quarter of 2024, The Wrap announced that Tom Holland found a way to fit in the filming of Avengers: Doomsday, even with his busy shooting commitments.

In a surprising twist, it’s revealed that Holland is the man behind the mask of Marvel Cinematic Universe’s beloved character, Spider-Man! Furthermore, it’s not just Doomsday where we’ll see young Peter Parker in action in 2026; Tom Holland will also be seen in Spider-Man: A New Leaf, set to hit theaters on July 31, 2026.

Moving ahead in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), it seems that Peter Parker will persistently find himself in trouble due to what could be called “Parker’s Perennial Predicament.” In his latest outing, Doctor Strange wiped out Earth’s recollection of Peter Parker, leaving only memories of Spider-Man intact.

From now on, the mix-up concerning Peter’s hidden identity due to his spellcasting will lead to an unusual situation for him. This magical memory loss is expected to significantly affect Spider-Man’s journey in the upcoming Avengers mission, “Avengers: Doomsday.

Benedict Cumberbatch

During a recent interview on the red carpet, Benedict Cumberbatch sparked excitement among Marvel Cinematic Universe fans when he hinted he wouldn’t be part of “Avengers: Doomsday.” But just a couple of weeks later, he clarified his comments, acknowledging that he had made an error and actually meant to say something different.

In the upcoming movie “Doomsday,” Benedict Cumberbatch will put on the Levitation Cloak again to play Dr. Stephen Strange. Since his debut in 2016, Dr. Strange has made appearances in various Marvel Cinematic Universe films, such as “Thor: Ragnarok” and both latest versions of “The Avengers.

In the final moments of “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” Doctor Strange encounters Charlize Theron as Clea, hinting at a dark future. According to Clea’s ominous warning, Doctor Strange is responsible for an incursion during his adventures on Earth-838, and he must rectify this situation.

Eagerly, an enthusiastic Doctor Strange dons his outfit and ventures through a portal after Clea, heading towards the Dark Dimension. Given that Avengers: Doomsday is expected to revolve around universe-threatening incursions, it’s likely that Doctor Strange’s role in mending the incursions within the Dark Dimension will play a significant part in the upcoming team-up film.

Avengers and X-Men and Fantastic Four, Oh My!

Evans, Atwell, Holland, and Cumberbatch appear to be certain for “Avengers: Doomsday”, but it doesn’t imply that they are the sole cast members. In fact, it seems there are some notable omissions from the previously announced cast list.

As a die-hard film enthusiast, I can’t help but feel that it’s almost inevitable that characters like Bruce Banner, Carol Danvers, and Wong will grace the screen in the upcoming fifth Avengers movie. It seems only fitting that stars from Disney+’s Marvel Cinematic Universe series would also make an appearance, such as Kamala Khan and Jennifer Walters.

Teyonah Parris’ character, Monica Rambeau, is almost indispensable for the upcoming “Doomsday” in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, given that she’s stranded on a planet inhabited by the X-Men at present. Several of Marvel’s Mutants are rumored to appear in “Avengers: Doomsday,” which supports the idea that Monica will rejoin the action.

Regarding the topic of Mutants, it seems wise for the studio to include the main characters from the blockbuster movies Deadpool & Wolverine, starred by Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman respectively, in the mix, despite neither being awarded director’s chairs.

Fans will likely need to hold their excitement for nearly a year and a bit before learning the complete cast of “Avengers: Doomsday“, but it’s quite probable that Marvel will disclose additional actors at this July’s San Diego Comic-Con.

Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday hits theaters on May 1, 2026.
