As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I must say that the recent happenings at NetEase Games have been nothing short of intriguing. Yet, despite the turbulent waters they seem to be navigating, their commitment to delivering quality content remains unwavering. The announcement of Moon Knight joining the Marvel Rivals roster is a testament to this dedication.
Despite the recent worldwide focus on an anti-corruption investigation involving NetEase Games (the Marvel Rivals developer), the weekend has remained quite bustling for them. This event led to the arrest and subsequent termination of nine employees. However, it seems that work continues as usual, with multiple updates announced for their superhero team-based PvP shooter.
Over the weekend, one of the most exciting revelations was officially confirming the upcoming playable character – none other than the Fist of Khonshu, Moon Knight. For weeks, there had been whispers about this character, sparked by his brief appearance at the end of Psylocke’s character trailer. It turns out that Moon Knight will indeed be a Duelist character in the game.
⏳ In about four weeks, Moon Knight will emerge from the darkness and become part of the Marvel Rivals universe!
🌙 Beneath the gentle glow of the moon, Moon Knight stands ready to mete out justice against those who challenge Khonshu. Save the date, December 6th, as you venture into a world filled with vengeance, enigma, and strength…

Marvel Rivals is expanding its roster with Moon Knight as its latest addition, making him the 27th hero in the game. This upcoming character will be available at no cost when it launches on consoles and PCs on December 6, 2024. Additionally, Moon Knight marks the 13th Duelist character added to the game since Psylocke’s announcement. Recently, IGN has shared an exclusive video featuring gameplay footage of this newest hero, offering a tantalizing hint about who else might be joining Marvel Rivals in the future.
On November 9th, 2024, Miller Ross, a notable contributor, shared on his Twitter account that a potential new character joining the roster was hinted at in the Moon Knight gameplay video. The character is seen focusing on his targets, and Ross captioned it, “666 strikes again!”. This suggests that Clint Barton, also known as Hawkeye, might be the rumored next playable character who appeared in the Kill Feed for the IGN Moon Knight gameplay video. It’s possible that an official announcement about this could be made within the coming days or weeks.
As we draw closer to the worldwide debut of Marvel Rivals next month, NetEase Games has unveiled a special treat for players: at launch in December 2024, they’ll receive an exclusive “Mister Knight” skin for Moon Knight. This unique appearance was inspired by the character’s look from Moon Knight (2014) #1, which served as the foundation for the character’s appearance in the 2022 Marvel Studios’ Moon Knight series.
