Martin Scorsese‘s “The Saints” sequel, titled “Part Two,” is set to premiere on Fox Nation from April 4th, continuing through Easter, and our exclusive source, EbMaster, has announced this, together with the release of the first trailer.
This documentary series, spearheaded by Martin Scorsese as host, narrator, executive producer, and Oscar-winning director, delves into over 2,000 years of history, focusing on significant religious figures such as Francis of Assisi, Moses the Black, and Mary Magdalene. The inaugural season showcased notable individuals like Joan of Arc, John the Baptist, Sebastian, and Maximilian Kolbe.
In the upcoming series, starting from April 4 with “Francis of Assisi,” we journey back to the 13th century where Francis encounters war’s atrocities before discovering a fresh purpose in life by establishing a brotherhood and confronting Sultan Al-Kamil. The second installment, “Moses the Black,” due on April 11, tells the story of Moses, a runaway slave from the 4th century, who chooses peace over violence and his old ways, seeking solace in a secluded desert monastery. The third episode, “Mary Magdalene,” airs on April 18, chronicling Mary’s experiences as she forges a bond with Jesus of Nazareth, remaining one of his most devoted followers until his crucifixion.
The show was created by Lionsgate Alternative Television, with Martin Scorsese and Matti Leshem at the helm, and Kent Jones handling the writing (“Hitchcock/Truffaut”). Additionally, Julie Yorn, Rick Yorn, Christopher Donnelly, Lisa Frechette, Yoshi Stone, Matt Loze, David Ellender, and Craig Piligian are also serving as executive producers.
More recently, “Killers of the Flower Moon” by Scorsese has sparked discussions for potential Oscar recognition, having been nominated for 10 Academy Awards. Apart from this feature film, Scorsese has also directed several documentaries such as “No Direction Home: Bob Dylan,” “George Harrison: Living in the Material World,” and the documentary series “Pretend It’s a City.
