As an ardent fan of captivating narratives and talented actors, I am absolutely thrilled by the addition of Martha Plimpton and Mireille Enos to the cast of “Task.” These two seasoned actresses bring a wealth of experience that promises to enrich this already intriguing series.
Actors Martha Plimpton and Mireille Enos have signed on for roles in “Project Task,” a future HBO dramatic television show featuring Mark Ruffalo.
The story unfolds in the working-class neighborhoods surrounding Philadelphia, where “Task” centers on Tom (Ruffalo), a federal agent heading up a team tasked with addressing a series of burglaries at drug dens. However, the culprit proves to be an unexpected figure: a family man named Tom Pelphrey.
In this production, Plimpton portrays Kathleen McGinty, a senior FBI official overseeing a team, who recruits Tom to head the task force. At around the same time, she finds out she’s being compulsorily retired. Meanwhile, Enos takes on the role of Tom’s wife, Susan Brandis. The couple tied the knot at an early age, which led to Tom resigning from the priesthood.
Among her many roles, Plimpton starred in movies such as “The Goonies” (1985), “The Mosquito Coast” (1986) and “Parenthood” (1989). She also played a part in the Fox sitcom “Raising Hope,” which ran from 2010 to 2014. More recently, you might have seen her in the 2021 film “Mass” and the HBO series “The Regime,” which premiered earlier this year. Currently, she is represented by Innovative Artists and Markham, Froggatt and Irwin.
Enos gained significant recognition for her role in AMC’s “The Killing” from 2011 to 2014. Subsequently, she has acted in Amazon Prime Video’s “Hanna” (2019-2021) and “Good Omens,” which airs on both Amazon and BBC Two (2019-present). Coming soon, you can watch her in Season 5 of “For All Mankind” on Apple TV+. She is represented by CAA, Howard Green Entertainment, Goodman, Genow, Schenkman, Smelkinson, and Christopher.
In addition to Ruffalo, Pelphrey, Plimpton, and Enos, the cast of “Task” also features Emilia Jones, Thuso Mbedu, Raúl Castillo, Jamie McShane, Sam Keeley, Fabien Frankel, Alison Oliver portraying Lizzie, Owen Teague as Peaches, Dominic Colón, Margarita Levieva, Raphael Sbarge, Mickey Sumner, Brian Goodman, Elvis Nolasco, Colin Bates, Isaach de Bankole, Phoebe Fox, Silvia Dionicio, and Coral Peña.
The script for “Task” has been penned by Brad Ingelsby, the creator of “Mare of Easttown.” Alongside directors Jeremiah Zagar and Salli Richardson-Whitfield, Ingelsby serves as an executive producer. Mark Ruffalo is also involved, along with Paul Lee and Mark Roybal from Wiip, and David Crockett. Nicole Jordan-Webber and Jeremy Yaches of Public Record function as co-executive producers for the project.
