Markiplier, known for his YouTube videos, announced he’s planning to make more films after his first movie, the horror film ‘Iron Lung,’ proved to be very popular.
Even before its official release, the film Iron Lung has already made more than its $3 million budget, earning $3.5 million from early screenings.
The film is predicted to earn between $9 million and $10 million during its opening weekend – a huge success for the influencer’s first movie, with more film projects likely to follow.
On January 29th, Markiplier held a Q&A session after a screening and talked about whether he plans to make more movies. He addressed fan questions on the topic, discussing future possibilities.
Markiplier says he’ll “obviously” make more movies
Okay, so everyone knows Markiplier from his YouTube videos, but honestly, he’s way more than just a YouTuber. He’s seriously good at putting together huge projects, and he gets involved in all aspects – not just being on camera, but actually helping to make things happen behind the scenes too.
Markiplier has expanded his creative work beyond traditional content. He wrote, directed, and starred in interactive series like ‘A Heist with Markiplier’ and ‘In Space with Markiplier’—the latter even received an Emmy nomination in 2022. He’s also appeared in the Amazon Prime series ‘The Edge of Sleep.’
Mark says making Iron Lung was a great learning experience, and he’s eager to apply what he’s learned – both from this film and his previous projects – to future movies.
“Of course, I plan to keep creating,” he said. “I gained a lot of experience, and while this film [Iron Lung] isn’t perfect – I’m very aware of its flaws, maybe more so than anyone else, since I’ve been working on it for three years.”
I’ve gained a lot from this process, and it’s like getting three years of experience in improving my skills. Projects like ‘Heist’ and ‘In Space’ were all valuable lessons – opportunities to really dive in, experiment, and not be afraid to try things, even if they don’t always work out.

People are already guessing what his next film will be, and a lot of them are hoping he’ll adapt another independent video game – maybe one of the games he’s streamed online before.
Mark is currently enjoying the incredible response to his debut feature film. We were lucky enough to see it beforehand and gave it a strong 4 out of 5 stars in our review, impressed by how good it turned out to be.
