As a dedicated fan who has been following Markiplier’s journey since his early YouTube days, I have to say that his unwavering commitment to bringing Iron Lung to the big screen is nothing short of inspiring. From his humble beginnings as a Let’s Player to his foray into interactive web series and acting in The Edge of Sleep, Mark has always shown a unique ability to dream big and work tirelessly towards those dreams.

YouTube sensation Markiplier recently shared exciting news about his Iron Lung movie, revealing that he’s decided against some opportunities to stream the film online, opting instead for a traditional theater release.

Mark ‘Markiplier’ Fischbach is among several online content creators venturing into the film industry. Following his work on interactive web shows such as “In Space with Markiplier” and acting roles in Amazon’s “The Edge of Sleep,” he now aims to make a mark in Hollywood.

2023 saw a well-known YouTube personality unveil his work on a film version of “Iron Lung,” a chilling independent horror game sharing the same title. This game tells the tale of an unsuspecting inmate, compelled to delve into the abyss of a crimson sea on a faraway moon.

In a trailer released in October 2023, Mark announced that the movie would be arriving “at cinemas soon,” however, specifics about it have been hard to come by since then.

A year after announcing it, Mark has at last shared some news about his big endeavor with followers. Interestingly, the social media star mentions he’s been approached for alternatives to traditional cinema screenings to exhibit the movie.

It’s uncertain whether these deals encompass streaming services such as Netflix or HBO, but one thing is certain: he firmly stands by his ambition to bring Iron Lung to the cinema.

He stated during a live broadcast on October 18th, “I won’t settle for anything less than a theatrical release. The film should be shown in cinemas. I’ve had other options, but I haven’t chosen them…That’s my preference, my goal, and what I believe it merits.

He went on to say it’s satisfactory,” he said. “In fact, considering some of the recent films we’ve seen, it surpasses what’s needed for that.

He went on to explain that there isn’t a current “timeline” for when fans can expect to watch the film, but confirmed that the project was finally “officially done” in a video uploaded in June 2024.

At present, audience members must wait patiently to witness Mark’s acting in “The Edge of Sleep,” hoping it will eventually secure a theatrical release that has long been his aspiration for “Iron Lung.
