Actress Mariska Hargitay, famously recognized for her leading part in “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” is starting a production company named Mighty Entertainment. This company will encompass both scripted and unscripted projects. The initial venture for Mighty Entertainment is Mariska’s directorial debut for a feature film titled “My Mom Jayne.
Jayne, my mother’s film,” is set to make its debut at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival and will follow with a premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival next month. The movie will air on HBO on June 27.
In the future, Hargitay, who is not only a cast member but also an executive producer of “SVU,” intends to employ Mighty Entertainment to share tales that inspire feelings of bravery, inquisitiveness, and empathy within us.

For the past two decades, Hargitay has been the driving force behind the Joyful Heart Foundation, aiming to shift societal discourse on topics like sexual assault, domestic violence, and child abuse. Moreover, this foundation strives to provide aid and support to survivors.

As she sifted through old photographs for the project “My Mom Jayne,” she stumbled upon one of herself riding a bicycle at age three. In her own words to EbMaster, “I can see myself in that picture, so determined and focused, declaring ‘I’ve got this. I’m in control. I can manage this. I’m doing well.’ That little girl is none other than young Olivia Benson.” She added with a firm tone, “She means business.
The name she has now, she received many years back: “I had a boyfriend in my twenties who was friends with Jack Nicholson. Jack Nicholson asked me, ‘How’s Mighty?’ It was one of my favorite nicknames, so I replied, ‘Yes, Jack,’ and we only met a couple of times. I decided to embrace it, accept it, and make it part of me.
Speaking about her new venture, Hargitay expresses that it seems like a “logical evolution” after spending years narrating tales concerning sexual assault and domestic violence on “SVU.” She’ll be involved in both scripted and unscripted films and TV productions – with several projects currently being developed.
