Marisa Tomei, Sam Rockwell and Chris Messina to Star in Zombie Comedy ‘Hellhound’ (EXCLUSIVE)

Actors Marisa Tomei, Sam Rockwell, Chris Messina, and Ivan Martin are slated to appear in the upcoming zombie comedy “Hellhound,” directed by Zach Golden, who is known for his work on “High Heart.

Danielle Gasher’s newly established film sales company, Vaneast Pictures, will commence sales activities at the Cannes Film Festival.

The movie, penned by Golden Martin, is set to be created by Joseph Restaino (of “Pig” and “Amber Alert”) and Tony Stopperan (“Amber Alert”), in collaboration with Hungry Bull Productions, along with Martin and Golden themselves.

In the story “Hellhound,” when a sudden zombie infestation strikes a peaceful town in New York, a disheartened veterinarian is compelled to join forces with his former spouse and her current police officer partner to thwart President William White and his second-in-command General Graves from annihilating New York City. The struggle involves hordes of zombies, power plays, and lingering emotions – the future of countless lives depends on a man who has long since lost hope.

Restaino expressed his excitement about bringing the lively, thrilling script penned by Zach Golden and Ivan Martin’s Martin to fruition. With Zach at the helm as director, we have a skilled and reliable storyteller orchestrating an exceptional cast that includes Marisa Tomei, Sam Rockwell, Chris Messina, and Martin themselves. This gifted ensemble is a dream come true, and we can’t wait to share ‘Hellhound’ with audiences worldwide.

Recently, the movie “Amber Alert,” featuring Hayden Panettiere and Tyler James Williams, climbed to the top spot. Hungry Bull, who was involved with this project, also played a role as executive producer and financier for Justin Lin’s film “Last Days,” which debuted at Sundance 2025. Moreover, Hungry Bull is responsible for producing the upcoming movie “What We Hide,” starring Mckenna Grace, Jesse Williams, and Dacre Montgomery, set to be released in Summer 2025.

Over the last couple of years, I’ve been fortunate enough to support some truly remarkable films as a movie enthusiast. Companies like Hungry Bull, led by Restaino and Stopperan, have funded and brought to life Michael Sarnoski’s first directorial venture, “Pig,” which starred the brilliant Nicolas Cage and Alex Wolff. This film received widespread critical acclaim and numerous awards and nominations. Similarly, they backed Rebecca Hall for her directorial debut, “Passing.”

In addition, I was part of the team that funded Lionsgate’s “Fear of Rain,” starring the talented Katherine Heigl, Madison Iseman, and Harry Connick Jr. I also played a role in producing “Lady of the Manor,” directed by Justin Long and featuring Melanie Lynskey, Judy Greer, Long himself, and Ryan Phillippe. Lastly, I was delighted to be involved with “Mack & Rita,” starring Diane Keaton and Taylour Paige. It’s an incredible feeling to be part of such diverse and captivating projects!
