After you’ve acquired a costume for one of your characters, it becomes a permanent option in your character roster. You can choose this particular outfit when picking a racer from the character selection menu. Nintendo hasn’t officially revealed the total number of costumes to collect yet, but they hint that there are many costumes and outfits to discover.
Mario Kart World boasts the largest collection of characters yet, with familiar faces like Mario, Bowser, and Yoshi joined by some surprising newcomers such as Cow, who can munch on burgers, and adversaries like Pokey and Goomba. The game also offers a plethora of tracks to race across, including the legendary Rainbow Road.
On June 5, Mario Kart World debuts together with the Nintendo Switch 2. The game’s individual cost is set at $80, but for a brief period, Nintendo is offering a package deal that includes a digital version of the game with the new console priced at $500. Unfortunately, there has been no announcement regarding when preorders will be available again as they were postponed due to recently implemented tariffs.
