GreenSuigi, a speedrunner extraordinaire from the Super Mario 64 community, has accomplished something that was believed unattainable by many within their circle.
First introduced in 1996 for the N64, Nintendo’s timeless platformer has continually been a fan favorite for speedrunning. This game boasts various categories, each demanding unique tactics to be completed as swiftly as possible.
On their November 17th Twitch broadcast, Suigi, who already holds speed records in four out of the five main categories of Super Mario 64, also claimed the record for the fifth category.
In a noticeable display of excitement, Suigi announced he had broken the 70 Star world record in just 46 minutes and 27 seconds. Overwhelmed with triumph, he proclaimed himself as “simply the best.
According to Speedrun’s global expertise on speedrunning, Suigi has set a new world record for achieving the quickest completion times in all categories under the 70 Star category. In other words, he is currently the fastest player worldwide in these specific categories.
