Margo Martindale Wraps Production on ‘Dead Letters’ With Cole Sprouse and Yalitza Aparicio

Filming for “Dead Letters,” the initial movie by writer-director David Drake, featuring three-time Emmy Award recipient Margo Martindale (“The Americans”), has come to a close.

Martindale holds the executive producer position for this movie, featuring Emmy-nominated Stephen Root (“Barry”), Cole Sprouse (“Lisa Frankenstein”), Oscar-nominated Yalitza Aparicio (“Roma”), Jefferson White (“Yellowstone”) and honorary Oscar recipient Wes Studi (“The Last of the Mohicans”). In simpler terms, Martindale is a key figure in the making of this film, with Stephen Root, Cole Sprouse, Yalitza Aparicio, Jefferson White, and Wes Studi as its stars.

Created by Sam Bank and Hélène Sifre from Braintrust, along with Juliet Berman of Spiral Stairs Entertainment, “Dead Letters” is a character study about an American long-haul truck driver who must grapple with her past, present, and future as she prepares for the possible parole of the man who murdered her daughter.

(In this version, I’ve attempted to make the sentence more conversational and less formal while maintaining the original meaning.)

Growing up, I would frequently accompany my father on his delivery routes in a truck from the Hunts Point Cooperative Market in the Bronx. These early experiences formed many of my work-related memories. After finishing high school, I started a family and spent quite some time in low-level jobs before eventually finding my way into filmmaking. In my creative endeavors, I often delve into the lives of individuals from working-class backgrounds, frequently drawing inspiration from my personal experiences and family history.

The movie was handled for distribution by Gersh, while Three Point Capital offered the loan based on the New Mexico Tax Credit.
