The individual who boasts the highest number of Big Macs consumed over a lifetime from McDonald’s has recently achieved another extraordinary feat, surpassing yet another mark, nearly half a century since embarking on this culinary odyssey.
Donald Gorske’s long-standing devotion to McDonald’s iconic Big Mac sandwich has led him to consume at least one daily since 1972, and despite planning to pace himself in retirement, he harbors no plans to cease his habit.
With approximately 35,000 Big Macs consumed and counting, Gorske recently shared updates on his extraordinary fast-food journey. He offered valuable insights for anyone aspiring to surpass his culinary record.
Tricks of the trade
Gorske advised anyone aspiring to break his record ‘I’d recommend against it,'” Gorske told Guiness World Records on March 19, 2025, stating that he believes he might be the only human alive with a metabolism strong enough to attempt such a feat.
He went on to say, “I’ll likely outlive any attempt to contest it, for I have a fast metabolism and excellent health that enable me to consume Big Macs without significant weight gain. I may well be the only individual on Earth who could eat a Big Mac daily without experiencing any negative consequences.
To keep his consistent run ongoing throughout the years, Gorske shared that he kept Big Macs in the freezer and bought them in large quantities whenever unfavorable weather or unexpected situations stopped him from visiting his usual spot.
In the 2004 documentary titled “Super Size Me,” produced by Morgan Spurlock, Gorske and his family were featured, with the filmmaker interviewing them regarding Gorske’s strong affinity for McDonald’s.
Regarding future plans, the ardent enthusiast of the Big Mac intends to savor it daily until the end of his life. In other words, he envisions himself consuming a Big Mac on most days, and when asked about the final one he ate before passing away, his sons can humorously share, “This is how many Big Macs could potentially be fatal!
